Management Board

The Management Board is a University management body. The Management Board of the University is composed of 10 members coming from 7 countries. The members of the Management Board were appointed at the General Assembly on 23. February 2013 (Piran, Slovenia):

Senate

The Senate is constituted of the president, five (5) members of students, three (3) members of the EMUNI Management Board and 16 appointed senators. The composition of the senate may take into consideration the study areas and academic disciplines, as well as guarantee the representation of all members of the Union for the Mediterranean, thus realizing the mission of the University.

President

Prof. Dr. Dušan Lesjak took over the position of Acting EMUNI President on 1 April 2013.

The business handover was conducted by the former Acting President Mr. Laris Gaiser, who took over this position in July 2012 to stabilize the financial situation, and will now remain active as Vice President for Financial and Administrative Affairs.

Prof. Dr. Dušan Lesjak said at the handover that "his main role and a top priority for EMUNI will be the implementation of EMUNI's own study programmes, which shall improve EMUNI's academic reputation and enhance its status in the Euro-Mediterranean region."

EMUNI in the first years of its operation concentrated its activities to enhancing visibility in the region and launched several promotional and academic activities, which were the basis for starting their own study programmes.

Prof. Dr. Lesjak has been active as researcher, teacher and manager for more than 30 years. He is a professor of Management information systems (2000) and Management of Education (2010). His areas of expertise are e-business, e-learning and management and financing of higher education.

He was a State Secretary in the Ministry of Higher Education, Science and Technology of Slovenia (2006-2008) and in recent years, Advisor to the Minister of High Education, Science, Culture and Sport, covering science and higher education. Before that he was a president of the Programme Council for the Computerisation of Schools, a member of the Commission of the Council of the RS for Higher Education, a member of the Council for General Education, a member of the Zois committee for awards and recognitions, etc.

Already in 2006, 2 years before the official establishment of EMUNI, he chaired of the Project Group for EMUNI of the Government of Slovenia and has remained active by closely following the activities of the University ever since.

Vice President for Study Affairs

Appointed and relieved from his post by the Senate and is responsible for the area of study affairs at the University.

Vice President for Administrative and Financial Affairs

Appointed and relieved from his post by the Management Board and is responsible for administrative and financial affairs of the university.

Student Council

The student council of the EMUNI University will be constituted, when the University has its own students. The legal basis for the cooperation of students by the functioning of the EMUNI University is currently being prepared.
