Call for Notification of Already Accredited Study Programmes
In accordance with the EMUNI University Work Programme 2012 and the decisions adopted at the 9th Senate session on 26 November 2011, EMUNI University is issuing a Call for Notification of Already Accredited Study Programmes1

GENERAL ELIGIBILITY CONDITIONS
Institutions which are eligible to apply: Members of EMUNI University.
GENERAL AIMS
- To enhance the cooperation between higher education institutions in the field of research and implement and/or develop the study programmes.
- To contribute to the intercultural dialogue, open learning and teaching opportunities of the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM) and contribute to the integration of Euro-Mediterranean Higher Education Area.
- To promote diversity and equal opportunities in the field of education.
- To stimulate the mobility of professors and students from all over the world, especially from Euro-Mediterranean countries.
- To build a challenging and innovative teaching and learning environment that will attract outstanding students.
- To develop training-professional programmes in line with the UfM priorities.
NOTIFICATION OF ALREADY ACCREDITED STUDY PROGRAMMES WITH EMUNI CONTRIBUTION
Specific aims and expected results:
The objective is to adopt study programmes also in the framework of EMUNI University and to add a Euro-Mediterranean context to the study programme. The Senate of EMUNI University has the right to make modifications of the study programme to ensure that it is compatible with EMUNI by adding a new course/module to the study programme, i.e. the course/module Euro-Mediterranean Studies (10 ECTS credits). With this course/module the students will gain the cultural and technical competences for interpreting the principles, history and achievements of Euro-Mediterranean Relations. In addition, students will be able to examine trends in the intersection of humanities and social studies. In order to comply with the Slovenian legislation, EMUNI University reserves the right to change conditions for enrolment, selection criteria in case of limited enrolment, conditions for completing the programme, professional and/or academic title, add new professors to the programme, decide on location of implementation of the study programme. The programme will be notified at the Council for Higher Education of the Republic of Slovenia. At a later stage, it will be performed as a joint study programme and after conclusion of the programme the students will receive a double degree, issued by the applicant institution and EMUNI University. The programmes can be delivered in English or French language. Please note also that EMUNI University is not responsible for the duration of the procedure lasting at the Slovenian Quality Assurance Agency for Higher education.
Procedure:
- Adoption of the Already Accredited Study Programmes with EMUNI nodifications at the Senate of EMUNI University at its session in February 2012.
- Notification of the study programme at the Council for Higher Education of the Republic of Slovenia in September 2012.
- Performance of the joint study programme will be proposed in the Academic Year 2012/13 according to the Work Programme of EMUNI University.
Application deadline:
The application deadline is 17 February 2012. The applications need to be submitted on the prescribed application form with obligatory enclosures and should be sent by regular mail to Ms Anna Gargiulo Education Department - EMUNI University, Sončna pot 20, 6320 Portorož, Slovenia and by e-mail to ediucation@emuni.si Only duly completed applications signed by the legal representative of the applicant institution can be accepted.
Selection process:
Submitted applications will be reviewed and evaluated by the Senate Commission for study affairs. The Senate will adopt the study programmes at its session in 22 February 2012. The decision of the Senate is final, no further appeals are possible.
Notification of acceptance: 22 March 2012.
Formal selection conditions:
- Each applicant can submit up to 3 master study programmes and up to 2 doctoral study programmes.
- The programme needs to be linked to the following areas: Governance and Transparency, Leadership and Intercultural Bioethics.
- The programme needs to be already accredited according to the national legislation, the degree issued needs to have the nature of a public document and provide a verified level of education in applicant country and a verified title.
Financial applications:
No costs will be covered in the phase of submission of proposals for study programmes. When the programme will be implemented as a joint study programme, EMUNI University will support the programme with scholarships for students coming from the South and cover the mobility costs for professors coming from the South. The financial support is also related to the final approval from EMUNI Foundation.
SUBMISSION OF APPLICATIONS
The applicant institution needs to use the prescribed application form.
The applications with obligatory enclosures should be submitted by regular mail to EMUNI University, Sončna pot 20, 6320 Portorož, Slovenia and by e-mail (depends on the particular project).
Obligatory enclosures:
- A copy of the resolution of the Senate and/or the National authority (other body) that adopted the study programme
- Documentation regarding the study programme (expert's detailed report) in the form that is required in accordance with your legislation and is a basis for accreditation of the study programme,
- The programme of the Academic Year 2011/12
- National legislation that regulated the accreditation of higher education study programmes (and all further amendments to the legislation)
- A legalized declaration of the Rector stating that all the documentation provided is truthful, diploma issued has the nature of a public document and provides a verified level of education in the country and a verified title (original signed document)
- Specification (syllabus) of the courses/modules within the study programme in English language
- Short CVs of professors involved in the study programme (up to 100 words)
- Declaration of the National Information Centre(s)- ENIC NARIC or equivalent National Body that your HE institution and the submitted study programme are already accredited in your country.
1In accordance with the amendments of the Higher Education Act (Article 32, ZViS-F, OG RS, no. 64/08) EMUNI University can propose in notification study programmes, already accredited in Member States of the European Union and other countries if the diplomas issued in the accreditation country have the nature of a public document, provide a verified level of education in this country and a verified title, and are performed in the accreditation country by verified organisations.

Call for Hosting Institution for the EMUNI Study Programmes
The call is open to all EMUNI University members and aims at creating a network of specialised postgraduate study programmes among the Euro-Mediterranean universities.
The interested partners can choose to host the following EMUNI Master Study Programmes:
- De-pollution of the Mediterranean.
- Mediterranean Business Development.
- Maritime and Land Highways.
and the following EMUNI PhD Study Programmes:
- Good Governance and Public Policy Development.
- Human Rights, Institution Building and Democratization.
- Education Administration, Leadership and Organizational Development.

Call for Enrolment of Professors for the EMS Module
EMUNI University is searching for full professors and/or experts to give lectures in the EMS module in English, French or Spanish. The module will be delivered on the basis of blended learning, a combination of online and face-to-face tuition. The duration of the module is 3 weeks. Its target group are postgraduate students and others interested in the Euro-Mediterranean Studies.
Applicants must have completed study obligations in the amount of 180 ECTS at the bachelor level.
The module is divided into five courses:
- Euro-Mediterranean International Relations
- Geographical Perspectives and Tourist Regions
- Marine Environment of the Mediterranean Sea
- Sustainable Use and Conservation of the Mediterranean Flora
- External Cooperation and EUROMED
