The overall topic of the 2011 conference is "Managing Sustainability?"

However, as every year we welcome also papers from other fields of management studies.

Paper Submission

Upload your extended abstract (3 - 5 pages) or full paper to http://www.mic.fm-kp.si/2011/ by 30 April 2011.

Please note that submission is ONLY through the MIC electronic submission system.

All extended abstracts and full papers are submitted to a double-blind review.

Papers accepted in the review process will be published in MIC 2011 Conference Proceedingsin CD format.

 

The MIC 2011 policy requires one unique author to be registered for each paper accepted for presentation and publication.

If you are an author or co-author on more then one accepted paper, each paper must have one unique author registration

to be accepted for conference presentation and publication.

Call for Workshops

In the interest of making our conference a real place to exchange ideas and experience in a creative way, the MIC 2011 in Koper will offer its participants the opportunity to propose and attend workshops to discuss their on-going research in an open way, share best practices and experience, etc. Workshop organizers are invited to submit one or more themes that are deemed pertinent for today's academic and professional environment. These include, but are not limited to:

  • New agendas within sustainable research and implementation
  • Particularly interesting case studies for exploration
  • Work and business ethics and finding the balance between differing moral codes
  • Doing business in a specific region
  • A learning tool, teaching method, student involvement exercises or other pedagogical technique

Dr William Scott, University of Bath, Bath, UK, Topic: Sustainability and the Idea of the University: Learning into the Future

 

Evening with policy makers

A special plenary event will be organised during the conference. It will feature 3-4 policy makers in the area of sustainable development. Policy makers with strong expert or academic background from different countries in the Euro-Mediterranean region will take part. We will ask them to share their experience on "managing sustainability" via the political process.

This event is organised jointly with the Euro-Mediterranean (EMUNI) University.

 

Social Events and Networking

A special networking event will be organised to facilitate presentation of universities, departments and research initiatives, as well as publishing houses and journals. A conference dinner and an excursion will be offered to stimulate a lively informal exchange among conference participants.

 

Fee

Early bird registration: 230 EUR (conference fee*) + 30 EUR (dinner**) = 260 EUR

Late registration: 300 EUR (conference fee) + 40 EUR (dinner**) = 340 EUR

Discounted fee for students/accompanying persons:

Early bird registration: 150 EUR (conference fee*) + 30 EUR (dinner**) = 180 EUR

Late registration: 200 EUR (conference fee*) + 40 EUR (dinner**) = 240 EUR

* The conference fee covers: full conference participation, conference materials, conference programme and conference proceedings (CD), coffee breaks and two business lunches.
