The Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI University) is an international university based in Slovenia. It represents one of the six priority areas of the Union for the Mediterranean, which were confirmed within the common declaration, adopted in Paris, on 13 July 2008 (De-pollution of the Mediterranean, Maritime and Land Highways, Civil Protection, Alternative Energies: Mediterranean Solar Plan, Higher Education and Research, Euro-Mediterranean University, The Mediterranean Business Development Initiative). The mission of EMUNI University includes:
- approving the quality of higher education through the implementation of study and research programmes;
- aiming to become an international university with a special focus on cultural diversity;
- establishing an environment, which will have a stimulating effect on connecting different nations and cultures in an academic sphere;
- ensuring administrative, operative and material infrastructure, which will enable its operation;
- contributing to harmonization of higher education and research area and encouraging the development of a wider social-economic and cultural environment in EUROMED countries;
- the recognition of Slovenia in the Euro-Mediterranean region.
