Our dear Friend and companion of the Mediterranean has just passed away. Cosimo has been a dear friend, academic and personal, of EMUNI from the first day that the project started. He was supportive, absolutely enthusiastic, full of ideas, a visionary and also a pragmatic person. Ready to push his ideas with vibration and insistence, and always giving advice. Calling everything as he sees it, as he feels it, and as he feels it could or should go. I have been a very lucky person to have felt his company, and personally I feel that EMUNI's spirit has lost one of its beacons. I would like to extend to his family, his friends and more importantly his students, and our students in EMUNI our sympathy in this time of sadness.
I will miss you enormously, especially the fact that you will not be there when needed. Cosimo was this person. His quotes and his life, his publications and his teaching will always be remembered for his passion for the Mediterranean. I promise, on behalf of EMUNI, that you will be remembered. Water, the source of Life, is the water by which I will remember you and your sparkle to our Life.
Joseph Mifsud
President of EMUNI
Condolences by the Vice-President of the European Parliament Mrs. Rodi Kratsa
It is with great sorrow that I was informed by the President of the Euro-Mediterranean University (EMUNI) Prof. Dr. Joseph Mifsud about the sudden loss of Prof. Cosimo Notarstefano, Secretary General of CMU and close friend of EMUNI, whom I had met personally in Lisbon on 25 November 2011 during the EMUNI General Assembly and the ceremony for my designation as EMUNI Doctor Honoris Causa.
In this respect, I would like to convey my most profound condolences to the CMU family as well as to the family of Prof. Notarstefano.
Rodi Kratsa
