Brussels, Belgium, 5 October. The parliamentary assembly for the Union for the Mediterranean (UfM), working group for the Euro-Mediterranean University organised the second discussion day on the prospects of the Euro-Mediterranean University.
Ministers, academics and European Union officials as well as EMUNI network members and representatives of International Organisations notably the league of the Arab states and the OECD attended the Seminar that was co-organised with General secretariat of the Union for the Mediterranean.
Madam Rodi Kratsa, Vice President of the European Parliament responsible for Euro-Mediterranean Relations opened the sessions and emphasised on the role EMUNI is playing in closing the Gap between the north and the South of the Mediterranean calling for more support of different multi-stake holders in Europe, North Africa and the Middle east in order to help EMUNI address challenges to Higher Education more efficiently.
Professor Joseph Mifsud, President the Euro-Mediterranean University gave an up-to-date account of the pros and cons of this project, calling for more diversified formula through a multi-site, multi-partners and multi-stake holders approach.
The Seminar was an opportunity for EMUNI to listen and learn from participant's diverse experiences and critics while calling for more constructive debate in the near future.
