The
EU's Education, Audiovisual and Culture Executive Agency (EACEA)has launched a
call for proposals under the Erasmus Mundus programme, which allocates €5.2
million for cooperation with higher education institutions in Egypt, Israel,
and the occupied Palestinian territory, aiming at a minimum mobility flow of
200 individuals.
Erasmus
Mundus Action 2 Parnerships promotes cooperation between higher education
institutions through encouraging partnerships, mobility and exchanges of
students, researchers and academic staff.
The
projects in the three Mediterranean partner countries are part of a €15.2
million call for proposals (EACEA 22/10), with the aim of accomplishing
objectives identified in the cooperation between European and third country
higher education institutions only partially reached in an earlier call (EACEA
29/09). The remainder of the call is targeted at the Central Asian Republics
and the Western Balkans.
Specifically,
the Mediterranean window of the call allocates €2.9 million (minimum mobility
flow 110) for Egypt, and €1.15 million (minimum mobility flow 45) each for
Israel and the occupied Palestinian territory.
The
distribution of the type of mobility must respect the following:
Undergraduates:
30-40% of the total
Masters:
20-30% of the total
Doctorates:
15-25% of the total
Post-doctorates:
5-15% of the total
Staff:
5-15% of the total
For
the three Mediterranean partners, the call is open to mobility in all fields of
study under projects not exceeding 48 months.
The
deadline for submission of applications is 15 October 2010.
Eligible
activities, including preparatory activities, can start as of 30 November
