Nahalal, Israel, 26 July. The Joint Palestinian - Israeli Summer programme opened at Galillee College in July 2010 with graduate students from Europe, North America and Japan. The programme was developed 4 years ago by Galillee College and the Palestinian Al- Quds University.

The duration of the programme is five weeks and it comprises 150 academic hours of lectures by Palestinian and Israeli academic and experts, offering their respective points of view. Study Tours to historical sites and Arab and Jewish settlements offer the students additional first hand experience of the region.

Dr. Mahmud Yazbak is the Academic Director of the programme and among the faculty there are leading Palestinian professors, such as Prof. Hazem Kawassm, Founder of the "Freedom Forum Palestine" and former Director of Palestinian official delegation for negotiating trade agreements with Israel. Dr. Yair Hirshfeld was one of the two Israeli professors who designed the Oslo agreement.
