Galilee Institute, Israel, July. A group of 19 senior Palestinian officials from the Ministry of Agriculture in Palestine started their studies at Galilee Institute (Galillee College), Israel. The programme was developed jointly by the center for agriculture and water at the College, jointly with FAO (Food and Agriculture Organization of the United Nations in Rome). The programme was funded by the Spanish Government through their representative office in Ramallah. The Palestinian group was composing of 17 officials from the West Bank and two officials from Gaza. They are all responsible for agriculture in their provinces in the West Bank and Gaza. The programme focused on the Israeli experience in agriculture and water that can be implemented in the West Bank and Gaza. The Palestinian Minister of Agriculture supported this cooperation which is unique between Israel and Palestine. Galillee College has been cooperating with Palestinian organization for 20 years and hundreds of Palestinian managers, senior officials and planners were educated in the various programmes.
