Paris, France, 7 July. President Joseph Mifsud chaired the advisory strategic council of the Euro-Mediterranean Institute of Science in Risk, held July 7 at the "Hôtel de Marigny" in Paris, under the high patronage of Her Excellency Recteur Michele Gendreau- Massaloux, Ambassador at the Presidency of the Republic of France within the Working Group on the Union for the Mediterranean, academic matters, scientific, research and training.

The IEMSR develops and promotes training and research in the field of risk taken in the broadest sense.

The IEMSR contributes to the establishment of a common culture of risk in the Mediterranean involving both students, businesses, public institutions or private.

Confirming the importance of risk management into sustainable development in the Mediterranean and requiring the specialist training in risk management, the board of strategic direction, had discussed during this meeting, three key subjects, as determined by the agenda;

• focus on the activity of the IEMSR before school year 2010/2011,
• prospects for action in the field of vocational training,
• and proposed lines of research and calls for proposals.
