Brussels, Belgium, 23 February. The working group for EMUNI of the Euro-Mediterranean Parliamentary Assembly (EMPA) held a session in Brussels that was summoned by the Vice President of the European Parliament Ms Rodi Kratsa. It was attended also by EMUNI President, Prof. Dr. Joseph Mifsud.

The members elected the Vice-Chair of the Working Group, exchanged views on the scope and priorities of the EMUNI as well as on recent developments, and on the support granted to EMUNI by the European Commission in the presence of Mr. Andress Bassols, Head of Unit. They also discussed the objectives and work programme for 2010.

While in Brussels, EMUNI president also met with the Vice president of European Parliament Gianni Pittella to set up new strategic think tank of the EMPA which will pass from the Jordanian Presidency to the Italian Presidency in March 2010.

Other meetings were held with Janis Folkmanis, principal administrator in the SET (Strategic Energy Technologies), Giancarlo Caratti of the DG JRC and the coordinators of the Life Programme.
