Lisbon, Portugal, 6 January. President of the initiative Alliance of Civilizations Jorge Sampaio met with Prof. Dr. Joseph Mifsud, EMUNI President and Andreja Viher, Director of EMUNI Foundation. They discussed proposals for common projects to be implemented in 2010.

The AoC Regional Strategy for South East Europe was approved in Sarajevo on 14^th December 2009. As its Action Plan will mainly be focused on education and youth (this is to be prepared and presented in the 3^rd Forum of the Alliance which be held in Rio, on 28-29 May 2010), and joint initiatives with EMUNI will be included in it.

Regarding the AoC Regional Strategy for the Euro-Mediterranean area, it is planned to be adopted in March in a Conference which will take place in Alexandria. Its Action Plan will also include joint initiatives with EMUNI.

In the frame of the visit EMUNI representatives had a meeting at the University of Lisbon, one of 141 EMUNI Members, discussing future common plans of both institutions.
