What are the levels of computerisation in primary and secondary schools in Europe? How often do pupils use computers and the Internet at school or outside it and for what type of activity? How is information and communication technology (ICT) incorporated into the curriculum? What measures have been introduced to train teachers in the use of this educational resource?

This report uses 35 indicators to appraise the situation in 30 European countries. In order to provide further insight into information from Eurydice on the provision of teaching in ICT and teacher training in the field, this edition includes empirical data gathered in the PISA 2000 and PIRLS 2001 international surveys conducted by the Organisation for Economic Cooperation and Development (OECD) and the International Association for the Evaluation of Educational Achievement (IEA), respectively.
