Decision-making, advisory, operational and regulatory bodies in higher education

This fifth volume of the European Glossary on Education covers almost 770 national terms in their original language that denote the various kind of decision-making, advisory, operational and regulatory bodies in higher education at four administrative levels - national, regional, local and institutional. These bodies may be responsible for study programmes, evaluation, accreditation and funding, or for informing the public about educational provision. The publication covers 28 countries in the Eurydice Network.

In the first part, the terms are set out in alphabetical order in their original language. An explanatory note describes the legal and administrative framework of the body and how it is funded, its tasks and working procedures, as well as its relations with other bodies exercising responsibility in the same sector and how it is organised (make-up, and procedures for recruiting those who run it).

The second part consists of summary tables for each country showing all terms arranged by administrative level, be it national, regional, local or that of the educational institutions concerned.
