The scholarships are available to Italian civil servants, sons, daughters and orphans of civil servants, and sons, daughters and orphans of retired civil servants INPDAP.

XVII General Council of the Compostela Group of Universities
Braga, Portugal, 9 - 11 September. The President of EMUNI participated in the XVII General Council of the Compostela Group which was held at the University of Minho, in Braga, Portugal. During this general conference, EMUNI was admitted as a full member in the meeting of the General Council. EMUNI was given the platform during the meeting to explain the various activities in which it is involved.

EMUNI University is pleased to announce that it has obtained 79 scholarships for 11 Master Study Programmes from INPDAP (Istituto nazionale di previdenza per i dipendenti dell'amministrazione pubblica) DG Credito e Welfare, of the government of the Republic of Italy. The scholarships are available to Italian civil servants, sons, daughters and orphans of civil servants, and sons, daughters and orphans of retired civil servants INPDAP.
Al-Manar University of Tripoli and the Importance of Sustainable Agriculture
Al-Manar University of Tripoli (MUT). Acknowledging the relation of agriculture to nutrition and the environment, the Faculty of Agriculture and the Faculty of Public Health jointly organized a symposium entitled 'Sustainable Agriculture: Challenges and Prospective'. Among the many participants were; Mr. Samir Al Shami, Director General of the Ministry of Agriculture; experts in the field; and MUT students.
EMUNI Meets the University of Foggia
Portorož, Slovenia, 6 September. EMUNI University hosted Ms. Maria Civarella, the officer from the Department of International Relations at the University of Foggia (Italy) under the Erasmus Mobility programme. During Ms. Civarella visit several inter department meetings have been held at EMUNI premises in Portorož.
2nd UNAOC Summer School: Bridging Hearts, Opening Minds and Doing Things Together
Lisbon, Portugal, 28 August - 3 September. The 2nd Summer School of the United Nations Alliance of Civilizations was held at the University of Lisbon between 28 August and 3 September. About 100 young people from 43 countries, such as Afghanistan, USA, Spain, Bulgaria, Egypt, India, Israel, Peru attended the week-long course.
EMUNI in the 1st Middle East Friendship Camp in Greece
Thessaloniki, Greece, 10 - 20 August. 68 students from the Mediterranean countries (Tunisia, Iraq, Turkey, Spain, Israel and Greece) had the opportunity to meet, share ideas and engage in workshops with the aim of creating and presenting a thematic projects in Arts and Sciences.
Meeting at Parliament of Malta on EuroMed Relations
Malta, 24 August. A meeting was held at the Parliament in Malta between Hon. Michael Frendo, speaker of the House of Representatives of Malta, Gianni Pittella, the First Vice President of the EU Parliament, Joseph Mifsud, President of EMUNI, and Dr. Julian Vassallo, Head of the EU Parliament Office in Valletta. The themes of discussion centred around the Arab Spring, the evolving situation in Libya and a number of initiatives that can be taken by the three institutions together in capacity building and the democratic reconstruction of Mediterranean societies.
The Chronicle of HE: As Universities Globalize, Consortia Take On a New Meaning
In the late 1990s, some members of the Association of Commonwealth Universities felt they needed a better way to connect with like-minded peers at other global institutions. 'A number of vice chancellors were going to meetings and coming away saying that there were 400 institutions there, how do I find the ones that are like mine?' says Jane Usherwood, secretary general of Universitas 21, a network of 23 universities, all of which offer undergraduate through doctoral education.

A special plenary event will be organised during the conference. It will feature 3-4 policy makers in the area of sustainable development. Policy makers with strong expert or academic background from different countries in the Euro-Mediterranean region will take part. They will be asked to share their experience on 'managing sustainability' via the political process.

The International Journal of Euro-Mediterranean Studies (IJEMS) is an open access journal aimed at promoting intercultural dialogue and exchanges between societies, developing human resources, and assuring greater mutual understanding in the Euro-Mediterranean region. To accomplish this objective, the journal seek to publish high quality research papers and case studies.
